Computer Auctions FAQ

Where have all the items come from?
95% of the items in a computer auction and are end of lease from Schools, Businesses
& Home Users from around Australia. They average 2-4 years old and are being
sold on behalf of various Finance Companies.

How Do I Know if the items is working?
Inspection times are given for you to check out the item for yourself so you can be happy with what you are bidding on. If we know of a fault we let you know by (A/F) in the catalogue. But this doesn’t mean that every other item in the catalogue not listed with (A/F) is in working order. It may have faults they we don’t know of or faults may have developed since we have checked the item.

How much will something go for?
We have these computers auction every 2 weeks so we have a fairly good knowledge of what the items will bring. Please ask one of our staff for a guide price.

Are there any reserves on the items?
All items sold on behalf of finance companies will have reserves. i.e. 95% of the auction. All reserves however are set very low. MGS has a 98% average clearance rate. So the reserves don’t have much of a factor in the auction.

Do I get any software with the computer?
Only when it is stated in the catalogue. ie “WinXP Pro Installed w/License” means Windows XP is installed with the License sticker on the item. You get no cd’s & no manuals. You only get the CD’s and/or manuals when listed.
